Secret New Cars Coming Soon

548 Scuderia
Ferrari has a reputation of building lightweight, stripped-out versions of its mid-engine supercars and the latest to benefit is the 458 Italia. Like the F430, the 458 will soon be available as a Scuderia version, weighing considerably less than its forbear and with a significant lift in power to make it a real track-day weapon.

F12 Spider
Ferrari has only just revealed its F12 Berlinetta, at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, but already plans are in place for a convertible 'Spider' version of its fastest ever car. It probably won't be on sale until 2015 and, furthermore, will be an exclusive halo model with production restricted to 100 units, much like the 599 Aperta.

Kia GT
Kia is on an upwards trajectory and is building on its success with cars that are both attractive and good to drive. In 2013, the Korean firm will add to its line-up with the Kia GT, a new four-door family car and a competitor to the likes of the VW CC.

Lamborghini Cabrera
Cabrera is the name of the all-new successor of the Gallardo to be introduced in 2013. Eager to compete with the 458 Italia, this new supercar will feature an updated version of the V10 engine with around 600hp. It will borrow heavily from the Aventador in its design and construction, using the bigger car's carbonfibre monocoque chassis.

Lamborghini LM
Lamborghini is gearing up to launch an SUV/crossover. This may sound absurd to some, but Lamborghini fans know there is actually a precedent. The LM002 produced in the late 80s was an exotic cousin of the Hummer. However, the new LM is expected to have a more refined and civilised appearance is expected from the new LM, which will be based on VW's new flexible platform, the same chassis that will underpin the new Porsche Cayenne, VW Touareg and Audi Q7.

Toyota GT-86 Covertible
It isn't even on sale yet, but we can reveal that the GT-86 will also be available as a cabriolet, just like the Celica was. Power will come from the same Subaru 2.0-litre boxer engine. There is yet no information whether the Subaru version of the GT-86 will also be offered as a cabriolet.

New Ferrari F12 Berlinetta Supercar Unveiled

The F12 Berlinetta is the fastest Ferrari ever. Powered by a 740hp 6.3-litre V12, this front-engined, rear-wheel drive supercar does 0-62mph in just 3.1 seconds and has a top speed rated in excess of 211mph. But it's also more spacious and fuel-efficient as well - and packed with incredible technology.

This thing just exudes supercar sex appeal. It has cutting edge aerodynamics, a brand new spaceframe chassis constructed from no less than 12 different types of alloy, a completely integrated suite of electronic control systems, reduced weight, and a lower centre of gravity that's pushed further back in the chassis compared to the Ferrari 599 it replaces. Did we mention the 740hp V12?

Even if it's not a conventionally gorgeous car - can you name the last Ferrari that was? - some of the visual details are out of this world. Just look at that back end treatment, and the muscular flanks. But while the F12 comprehensively outpaces the Enzo, Ferrari is also planning a new hypercar - and that will make this car seem tame.

First hints at Geneva are that the F12 Berlinetta should just squeeze in beneath £250,000 before you've even tackled the options list. And if that makes you nervous don't even ask about the price of the show car's three-layer Rosso Berlinetta paint. You can join the queue now, but prepare for a lengthy wait.

As well as 0-62mph in 3.1 seconds and that 211mph+ top speed, the F12 will hit 124mph in just 8.5 seconds. With a dry weight of 1,525kg it's 70kg lighter than the 599 - yet 20% stiffer. The 740hp engine revs to 8,700rpm but also produces 509lb ft of torque, 80% of which is available at just 2,500rpm. A 30% improvement in fuel economy brings it up to 18.8mpg, while CO2 emissions are down to 350g/km. Read more...

Honda NSX Concept Car

First unveiled stateside at the Detroit Show in January, and now wearing Honda badging for the first time, this is the new NSX concept's European debut here at Geneva 2012. And boy are we excited to see it.

The original NSX was partly developed by F1 legend Ayrton Senna, so the latest car has a lot to live up to. But the basics are there: mid-engined layout, two seats and a rakish body. Make no mistake, the NSX concept means business.

The name for a start. But alongside that, the new Japanese two-seater features a hybrid powertrain - giving massive performance with hatchback efficiency - Honda's first ever dual-clutch gearbox and an all-new advanced platform, promising that the NSX concept will deliver.

Honda is expecting to put the NSX into production within the next three years but a launch date, pricing and specification are still yet to be confirmed.

The NSX concept will muster a grand total of 399hp courtesy of a mid-mounted 306hp 3.5-litre V6, driving the rear wheels in conjunction with a 39hp electric motor, while twin 27hp electric motors drive the front wheels individually. Read more...
